Climate Fund Managers, Invest International, others back SA-H2

A new blended finance fund that will accelerate South Africa’s green hydrogen sector has been launched. The fund, SA-H2, is supported by Climate Fund Managers, Invest International, Sanlam, the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa and other investors, aims to raise USD 1bn in South Africa or through other channels.

SA-H2 will invest in developing and constructing large-scale green hydrogen infrastructure assets across the country.

Once established, SA-H2 will join it Namibian counterpart SDG Namibia One, which is also seeking to raise USD 1bn in funding directly in Namibia, or indirectly through other channels.
