TLG Capital has made a number of key appointments aimed at institutionalising its London office and localising origination and monitoring teams.

It has hired Henry Hall, the former Head of EM Equities at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as COO and Partner, who was also CFO at Pawame, a Kenyan startup that provides microfinance and off-grid solar solutions.

TLG Capital has also appointed Isaac Marshall, Rached Chaibi and Ahmed Dhouib. Marshall’s previous experience includes servicing on the Global Macro team at Goldman Sach’s, while Chaibi, who has spent a decade at the Department for International Trade, is responsible for North Africa Coverage. Dhouib joins as North Africa Investment Director after serving as CIO for an asset management firm in Tunisia.

Both Rached and Ahmed will be based in Tunis.

The firm, in Q122, retained Amanda Kabagame, who set up and runs its office in Kampala. Kabagame also serves as TLG’s Head of East Africa and has worked for both Deloitte and PwC.

These appointments follow recent announcements made by the firm. They are; a USD 400mn platform for credit investing in sub-Saharan Africa, a USD 25mn venture debt partnership with Future Africa and the first close of the Empower Fund.
