Nigerian edtech Semicolon will increase its training, talent management and project-delivery capacity after the successful raise of USD 1.2mn in seed capital from Launch Africa Ventures, Consonance Investment Managers and angel investors. The investment catalyses its ambition to expand to become the largest technology capacity-development hub in Africa’s ecosystem.
Semicolon mainly trains software engineers to address the tech-skill gaps which exist. It offers a one-year training programme that when completed offers one of two career paths—employment with hiring partners or techpreneurship for ideas they wish to convert into businesses. Alongside this, the edtech serves as a strategic partner to companies undergoing digital transformation.
The company was founded in 2019 by Sam Immanuel, a software engineer.
