SA’s Kena Health closes $2.1mn seed extension round, series A round on the horizon

Kena Health a South African healthtech has received USD 2.1mn for its seed extension round—USD 2mn from NEXT176 and USD 100,000 from Tofino Capital. This extension round complements commitments from Swedish health tech investor Cardo Health and a local family office.

The startup also plans to embark on its series A round in the coming year.

The company was launched in March 2022 and states it is the number one medical app in South Africa, reaching more than 200,000 individuals and delivering 25,000 patient consultations. Its appeal lies in its convenience (no in-person visits) and accessible price of ZAR 185 per consultation with doctors, nurses and mental health practitioners.
