Raxio Data Centres has secured a USD sustainability-linked debt facility of up to USD 170mn in multiple tranches to execute its data infrastructure plans. Of the USD 170mn commitment, USD 110mn has been obtained from Proparco and the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, which is part of PIDG.
Raxio currently has the widest geographic coverage of any data centre operator on the continent–its presence in seven African countries includes the DRC, Ethiopia and Angola–and the investment supports the construction and expansion of existing and new facilities in the region.
Linklaters acted as adviser to Proparco and EAIF led by Justin C. Faye and managing associate Nathanaël Caillard, with associates Youssef Berrada, Aïssatou Beye, Anisah Inoussa and Philippe-Olivier Lauriano do Rego in Paris and managing associate Bram Bulter and associate Akrit Anand in Amsterdam.
Raxio has been backed by investments from Roha and Meridiam
