New Forests has made five senior additions to its Africa team. The nature-based real assets manager has most recently appointed Eva Warigia as Associate Director, Investor Relations. Warigia joins from the East Africa Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, where she was most recently its CEO. At New Forests she will be responsible for building relationships with investors for AFIP, an African forestry impact platform that aims to raise up to USD 500mn over the next two to three years.

Other appointments to the Africa team were made last year. Kuda Phairah joined as Associate Director, Operations in November last year after working as General Manager of Forestry at York Timbers in South Africa.

Moses Kimani, who joined in August last year as Associate Director, Investments, is responsible for originating and executing investment transactions in Africa. Kimani was recently an Investment Principal at the private equity firm Phatisa.

Stephanie Bishop is the Africa team’s Associate Director, Environmental & Social. Bishop joined New Forests in July last year from Miro Forestry and Timber Products where she was Compliance Director.

And finally, Sean Lloyd is the team’s Manager of Operations. Lloyd moved to Kenya in January 2023 after spending four years working in Singapore for the firm where he managed plantation forestry and processing assets for the Asia strategy. His current role will be to assist with due diligence efforts and lead on carbon modelling and reporting.
