HALA Ventures and Wa’ed Ventures have led a USD 3.4mn pre-series A funding round for Intella, with participation from Sanabil 500, INSEAD’s alumni angel network and other investors.
Wa’ed Ventures is the VC arm of Aramco.
Founded in 2021 by Nour Altaher and Omar Mansour, the deeptech startup will use its newly acquired funds to grow in the Saudi market and has recently moved its headquarters from Egypt to The Kingdom. Some funding will go towards the development of end-to-end AI models localised for the MENA region.
Intella raised a USD 1mn seed round from Hala Ventures, Falak Startups, Beyond Capital and other investors.
Lengo AI plans expansion in new African markets
A Senegalese SaaS startup that caters to informal retailers has raised funding from Acasia Ventures, which led the round, Ventures Platform P1 Ventures, Launch Africa, Voltron Capital, other VCs and angel investors.
Lengo AI, will use the funds raised for its pre-seed round to expand its technology and sales teams, make further developments to its product and expand into other African markets.
The team is comprised of Max Smith (CEO), Roger Macia (CCO) and Ismaila Seck (CTO).
