FMO, ABN AMRO back SMT Guinea with $15mn

Dutch DFI FMO and financial services company ABN AMRO have provided USD 15mn to SMT Guinea Transhipment Company to support its services in Guinea. SMT Shipping is a Dutch shipping group and the five-year financing agreement is in line with FMO’s mandate to support Dutch companies in their business expansion into Emerging Markets, while ABN AMRO provided its in-depth knowledge of shipping finance.

The Dutch shipping group provides full service logistics solutions in bulk and break-bulk maritime transport. Currently, a total of three SMT owned and operated vessels are collectively employed to tranship a minimum of 5.5mn tonnes of bulk carog per annum for a contract period of ten years.
