Bumpa raises $4mn led by Base10 Partners

Nigerian technology startup Bumpa has raised USD 4mn in seed funding led by Base10 Partners to hire more staff and improve its technology across payments, logistics, credit and analytics.

Other investors were Plug & Play Ventures, SHL Capital, Magic Fund, Jedar Capital, DFS Labs, FirstCheck Africa Angel Program, Fast Forward Ventures, Club14 and E62 Ventures.

The startup is building infrastructure for existing and soon-to-be small business owners to start, manage and grow their businesses from their mobile devices. Today, it serves over 50,000 small businesses that have recorded over 200,000 orders and trade a gross merchandise volume of USD 20mn. In August, it released a Meta integration (40% of all orders are via social media) that improves how businesses selling on Instagram collect payments, store buyer information, request payments and share invoices and receipts.

The no-code technology solution raised USD 200,000 as part of its pre-seed round last year and was founded by Kelvin Umechukwu (CEO) and Adetunji Opayele.
