Egyptian healthtech Yodawy has raised USD 16mn to grow its signature Care Programme, a service that offers monthy medication refills, automate its operations and support regional expansion.

The investment marks the first close of its series B round, which was co-led by Delivery Hero Ventures and Global Ventures. Other investors were AAIC, Dallah Albaraka (a diversified conglomerate based in Jeaddah) and existing investors Middle East Venture Partners and C-Ventures, P1 Ventures.

We continue to be fascinated by the ways they’ve used technology to elevate the healthcare experience for insured and non-insured patients. This is translated in their ability to serve more than 50,000 recurring chronic patients every month and save them more than 100,000 monthly hours of queuing to receive essential medication. We are thrilled to continue on this journey with them, and for the next chapter for Yodawy as it takes on more markets across the region.

So far, the pharmacy benefits management platform has raised a total of USD 24.5mn. It was founded by trio Karim Khashaba, Yasser Abdel Gawad and Sherief El-Feky.
