Bamboo Capital Partners has invested USD 510,000 in Green Mountain Arabica Coffee through its BUILD Fund and alongside Rabo Foundation. BUILD’s contribution is USD 360,000.
The coffee company will split the funds into two—USD 260,000 will go towards purchasing a dry-milling plant while USD 250,000 will be used to construct a processing factory and warehouse for product storage. These investments will help the business expand as it is a key exporter in Karenge region with a supply chain that has approx.1,200 smallholder coffee farmers (635 of these farmers are UTZ certified). This is a certification that supports sustainable farming and better opportunities.
Green Mountain Arabica Coffee was established in 2012 to produce and export green coffee (unroasted). It has successfully created contracts with international buyers such as Singapore’s Olam Group, Make & Grow (Thailand), Ataka in Japan and Kenya’s Sanisi Plc.
